Why Nigerians Are The Happiest People On Earth
You may be wondering why Nigerians are arguably called the happiest people on earth. It may also sound very funny to say that people living in an underdeveloped or developing country as the case may be are happy much more to be the happiest people in the world.
Many things have been happening in Nigeria and to Nigerians since the country's independence in 1960. The country has gone through many ups and downs. It has seen and experienced war. It has seen and experienced hunger. It has seen and experienced untold hardship. It has seen and experienced all manner of things both pleasant and unpleasant in recent times.
Few years back, the country had series of plane crash which resulted in the loss of loved ones by people. There have been communal clashes all over the place yet these clashes have not developed into a full-blown war. The spate of armed robbery and other crimes or social vices increases by the day yet the citizens have never thought of leaving the country en masse or buying arms for self-defense.
The people in positions of authority wake up in the money and hike the prices of essential commodities such as petrol and so on yet the people go about their normal businesses. The police intimidate innocent and law-abiding citizens yet the people have never thought of killing all the policemen in the country.
Top government officials embezzle or loot the nation's fund and lodge them in foreign banks yet the masses have never staged a war against the government. They have never set 'the Aso Rock? ablaze. They have never crucified anyone.
As a matter of fact, Nigerians are suffering and smiling. So, they are indeed the happiest people on earth.
